The assassination of Charlie Kirk has galvanized a community. Ironically, the day before 9/11, free speech advocate, Charlie Kirk, was gunned down at Utah Valley University while being invited to debate college students at the school. Many Kane taxpayers rallied, calling for a prayer vigil on the steps of the Kane County Government center in Geneva. The service, which lasted almost an hour, brought less than 100 people together for prayer in less than two hours after his assassination. The attendees, which included tax payers and Kane County officials, prayed for peace in an age of less tolerance. In a county bereft of strong leaders, many commented that it was refreshing to see leaders attend as well as pray for the Kirk family, their family, the nation and the citizens of Kane County. Kane County Speaks prays for the Kirk family as they mourn the loss of their young husband and father.
