VOTER ALERT!

VOTERS: BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR BALLOT AFTER IT PRINTS OUT!!!!
An election judge that has worked for several elections attended hands on training with the new voting machines last week. When he filled out the sample ballot, one of the names he voted for came out entirely different than what he had selected on the ballot.
While he did vote for Abraham Lincoln (sample ballot used silly names), he never voted for John Muir for any office! The new voting machine chose a different name than he had selected! And NO, he did not press the wrong button! The trainer acknowledged that there have been problems with the demonstration software and had contacted the vendor.
I personally know of at least one other person that had a similar issue! These errors cause concern regarding the fidelity of the Verity Duo System Software.
The trainers were saying the name that showed up, ‘John Muir’, was an alias of some kind….an alias for who? And why is an ALIAS being used?
Was there a glitch in the demonstration software? How are voters supposed to have confidence in our elections if even the demos are wrong?
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR BALLOT for errors BEFORE you put it in the Scanner. Once in the scanner then you cannot change it! I TRULY hope this does not happen on ELECTION DAY! But if it does, I hope all the polling places have tons of extra ballot paper for all the glitches that may occur.
UPDATE FROM THE DAILY HERALD…
Today’s Daily Herald stated, “the problem came because the demonstration program Hart uses is nationwide. Some states allow candidates to use an alias name (such as a nickname) on ballots, so the program on the demonstrators includes that. During the demonstrations, the screen displayed the name ‘Abraham Lincoln’ and the name printed out was ‘John Muir,’ according to the news release.”
But that is NOT what happened. While much of that Daily Herald article is accurate, ‘John Muir’ did NOT appear INSTEAD of ‘Abraham Lincoln’. The name ‘John Muir’ appeared instead of a different choice which had nothing to do with ‘Abraham Lincoln’. Furthermore, is ‘John Muir’ ever used for an alias for ‘Abraham Lincoln’…. please explain why that would be an alias. ‘Honest Abe’ would be an alias that I could accept but not ‘John Muir’. I am still very concerned about these new machines and whether we can truly trust them.
